Dr. Kiripolsky likens the importance of consistent, at-home daily skin care to brushing one’s teeth. Once or twice a year, we would go to see our dentist to get a more thorough cleaning and assessment of our teeth, but we are expected to keep our teeth healthy at home by brushing and flossing daily. In the same way, peels, lasers, and other non-invasive or minimally invasive procedures are beneficial, but they do not take the place of an effective and consistent daily skin care routine.
